Who I Help
Home visits are for anyone who needs physiotherapy but can't easily get to the clinic, for example if you can't drive, find travelling difficult or painful, or care for someone at home.
I specialise in recovery after surgery, including:
Hip and knee replacements
Shoulder surgery
Hip fractures and other broken bones
Getting stronger after a hospital stay
I bring the same assessment and treatment you'd get in clinic to your home. Not sure if a home visit is right for you or a family member? Give me a call and we'll talk it through.
Your Physio
I'm Adam Bratley, a physiotherapist specialising in recovery after surgery and hospital stays, and in helping people stay mobile and independent at home. I've worked in the NHS since 2018, including four years on post-operative wards and visiting patients in the community. I know how much difference it makes to be treated in your own home, whether you're recovering from an operation or finding it harder to get out.

What to expect
Before I arrive: you complete a short form about your health, any recent operation or hospital stay, and your home. If you've been in hospital, have your discharge letter to hand.
Assessment (60 minutes): I check your movement, strength and walking, and after surgery, any wound or swelling, we then set goals for your rehab.
Your plan: you get exercises for the week ahead, and I can update family members if you'd like me to.
Price
First visit (60 minutes): £85
Follow-up visit (45 minutes): £70
6-week recovery package after surgery or a hospital stay (first visit + 5 follow-ups): £395, a saving of £40

Common Questions
How soon after surgery can you start? Usually immediately after returning home. If you have a surgery date, you can book a visit before your operation to get your home ready.
Do I need to have had surgery? No. I visit anyone who finds it hard to get to the clinic, for example with back or joint pain, arthritis, after a fall, or with reduced mobility.
Do I need a referral? No. You can book directly.
Can I book for my mum or dad? Yes. Many bookings come from sons and daughters. With your parent's permission, I can also update you after each visit.
Is it covered by insurance? Some policies cover home physiotherapy. Check with your insurer before booking.
What do I need to have ready? Any hospital letters or medication list, any walking aids, and comfortable clothes. You don't need any equipment.
What if I need to cancel? Please give at least 24 hours' notice, or the full fee is charged.
